About Us
The Vegreville Muslim Association is a non-profit organization of Muslims dedicated to religious, educational, and social services in the Town of Vegreville (100 km E of Edmonton on Hwy 16) and surrounding areas (Mundare, Two Hills) of Alberta. The Vegreville Muslim Association (VMA) was formed in Vegreville, Alberta on the 8th February 2013 and was officially incorporated on the 24th April 2013 under the religious land societies act – corporate access number 5417479895. The VMA Community Centre was officially opened on June 25, 2015 for worship as well as for educational and social activities.
Mission
VMA's mission is “To pay off the price, maintain and operate the VMA Community centre in the heart of Vegreville to serve the orders of Allah, help the Muslim community to practice the principals of Islam, and ultimately please Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) by adhering to the teachings of the Qur’an and the methodology of the Sunnah of prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him); “operate the authentic Friday Islamic School for the education of our future generations”; and “To develop and implement da’wah programs to promote and develop the understanding of Islam”. We currently have the Daily Prayers , Friday Islamic School and Friday Family Halaqa. VMA aims to promote a true message of Islam and unite Muslims as well as to build sound relations with all communities in Vegreville.
Community
Muslims started settling in Vegreville almost 15 years ago. Today, VMA boosts the membership of Canadian Muslim families originating from multiple demographics of Canada, Pakistan, Nigeria, Egypt, India, Tunisia, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, South African, Mauritian, Albania and Bosnia. With increasing economic growth in this rural community, it is anticipated that more and more Muslims are likely to settle down in Vegreville in the near future.

Jumaah Prayer Salat-ul-Jumaah: 12:30 or 1:30 (based on season)

• Taraweeh prayers during Ramadan
• Iftar arrangements during Ramadan
• Friday Islamic School for kids
• Lectures by visiting Scholars/Shuyukh

Friday Islamic School
VMA operates a two tier Islamic school for kids
Tier-I accommodates kids older than 8 y
Tier-II accommodates kids between 4 to 8 y
